The Gretel Furler childcare centre will be built in 2026 on behalf of the Koehler Group right next to the administration building at the family company’s headquarters in Oberkirch. Family is a top priority at Koehler: Gretel Furler, who gave her name to the new daycare centre, is the daughter of August and Else Koehler and was Chairwoman of the Supervisory Board. Her children – Gisela, Klaus and Wolfgang – and later her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were always at the centre of her life.

In the new children’s home, 60 per cent of the places are available to children of Koehler Group employees, while 40 per cent of the places are allocated by the city. The prioritisation of places for children of Koehler Group employees is based on the company’s general conditions. The general conditions of the town of Oberkirch apply to the municipal allocation.

From September 2025 and until the new premises in Winterbacher Weg are completed, three groups of children (crèche with 10 children, over-3s with 20 children and a mixed-age group with 15 children) will be cared for in an interim building, the old daycare centre (St. Josef) in Nußbach. Elongated stay places (7h) and all-day places (9h) are offered.

After completion, the three groups of children will be expanded to six groups. The 95 children will then be divided as follows: two full-day groups for ten crèche children each, three over-3s (Ü3) full-day groups with 20 children each and a mixed-age 7h group with 15 children.
