Until the new building on the Bildungscampus-Ezach is completed, the children from the element-i childcare centre Glems-Igel are housed in an interim daycare centre in Uracherstraße in Leonberg’s Ezach district, close to the Glems river. There is space for 72 children in the modern and generously furnished interim centre, which also has a large outdoor area.
In future, the Ezach education campus will include the children’s centre, a primary school and a canteen. The children will then be able to interact with each other across year groups and the transition from the children’s centre to primary school will be seamless. Another advantage: siblings will stay together in one place for longer, and parent groups and educational partnerships will last longer.
The architecture of the new building is completely customised to the element-i pedagogy. Large windows will allow plenty of light into the tall high rooms and well-equipped functional rooms will invite the children to pursue their interests and gain experience. In the completed childcare centre 2025/26, the number of children to be cared for on two floors will be increased to eight groups, i.e. two times 75 children.
The food is freshly prepared daily in the canteen. We only use high-quality and, whenever possible, regional and seasonal products wherever possible for our nutritional concept. Depending on the childcare model, the children receive breakfast, lunch and an afternoon snack.
