From September 1, 2023, the element-i Kinderhaus Glems-Igel will start with a modern and generously furnished interim daycare center in Uracherstraße in the Ezach district of Leonberg, close to the Glems River (right next to the construction site of the previous Ezach daycare center). Initially, 44 children will find plenty of space to play and romp in the interim premises with a large outdoor area.
The architecture of the new building will then be completely aligned with the element-i pedagogy. Large windows will let plenty of light into the high-ceilinged rooms, and the well-equipped functional rooms will invite the children to pursue their interests and gain experience. In the completed Kinderhaus 2025/26, the number of children to be cared for will then be expanded to eight groups on two floors, or two times 75 children.
The new building will also be part of the future Bildungscampus-Ezach – with a children’s house, elementary school and a cafeteria. The children will thus be able to interact with each other across grades, and the transition from the Kinderhaus to the elementary school will be seamless. Another advantage is that siblings will stay together longer in one place, and parent groups and educational partnerships will last longer.
The food in the cafeteria is freshly prepared every day. For our nutritional concept, we use only high-quality and, whenever possible, regional and seasonal products. Depending on the childcare model, the children receive breakfast, lunch and a afternoon snack.
Our element-i pedagogy
The “i” in element-i stands for our fundamental understanding of education: individual, interest-oriented and interactive. We want to educate children to become self-confident, strong individuals who are capable of living in a community. We accompany this developmental path in the daycare center through sensitive interaction and diverse, stimulating experiences – individually as well as through joyful experiences in the larger community.
