The establishment of the element-i child care centre FrechDax was commissioned by Landesbank Baden-Württemberg (LBBW) in July 2007 as a company-own child care centre for the children of its employees. It is situated very closely to their parents’ place of work. By funding this child care centre, LBBW demonstrates its support for the ability of parents to work and its willingness to accept responsibility beyond simple job-related matters. The child care centre is conveniently located at Stuttgart’s central rail station, which offers the children many opportunities for day trips out.
The child care centre offers 55 places for children aged between six months and six years, as well as four guest child places and one emergency place.
The FrechDax child care centre is situated on the ground floor of a modern office complex at LBBW. The numerous, large, brightly-lit rooms offer enough space to provide the children with a variety of themed areas. At FrechDax there is also an outdoor area with a diverse range of opportunities for play. In the garden the children can let off steam without unnecessary restrictions and explore the many ways that they can move around.
Depending on the care model, children at FrechDax are provided with breakfast, lunch and an afternoon snack.
Native speakers of foreign languages have an important role in element-i child care centres. They provide the children with early exposure to foreign languages, which can be essential for learning languages later on. The current focus of foreign language learning at FrechDax is on English.
