We are the element-i Spatzennest childcare centre – a nature-focused childcare centre in the heart of Stuttgart, yet surrounded by greenery. One distinction is particularly important to us: we are not exclusively a forest kindergarten. The children experience nature intensively every day while also having permanent indoor rooms that provide shelter, quiet, comfort and space to retreat.
Our large garden is at the heart of our childcare centre. Meadows, hills, trees, garden beds, a mud kitchen and a variety of play areas invite the children to move, explore, build, play with mud, observe and create with natural materials. Here, they experience soil, water, plants, animals, weather and the changing seasons with all their senses and actively engage with their environment.
Our building also offers the children valuable spaces for learning and discovery. Across two floors, they can find places to play, rest, create and explore. The ground floor is specifically designed to meet the needs of our younger children. As they grow older and become more confident, they gradually begin to explore the upper floor as well. This allows them to become familiar with the entire childcare centre at their own pace.
Our cook is an important member of our team. She prepares fresh breakfast, lunch and afternoon snacks every day and regularly involves the children in her work. Through conversations about food, nutrition and cooking, the children learn where food comes from, how it is prepared and how enjoyable sharing a meal can be.
From the 2026/2027 childcare year onwards, different childcare arrangements will also be available for children under the age of three.
The childcare centre offers both places open to the public and places reserved for employees of partner companies. To qualify for a reserved place provided by MAHLE Behr Holding GmbH or Mercedes-Benz Mobility AG, at least one parent must be employed by the respective company.
