The element-i Spielzeit child care centre is the institutional child care centre of the Stuttgart State Theatre and is located above the Staatsgalerie at Urbansplatz 2. It offers 15 places for children aged between six months and six years. The day centre is open each day from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.
On the premises of the day care centre the children have at their disposal many exciting places to discover where they are motivated to experiment, build, dress up, dance or make music. This allows the children to develop and have fun as they discover their environment. Exploration of the environment outside the day care centre, including parks, forests, natural playgrounds, theatres and museums, is also an established part of the day care centre’s routines.
The cook is an important member of the team as they not only prepare the breakfast, lunch and snack each day, but also involve the children in their day-to-day work by speaking about nutrition and cooking. This makes the cook’s work an essential part of the approach to nutrition.
As in other element-i facilities, the eponymous element-i educational philosophy is also applied during play time. This means that children are motivated in various ways to stimulate their interest and trigger independent learning processes.
Registration
Because the child care centre is an institutional day care facility, admission to the child care centre is prioritised as follows: Priority is first given to children of employees of the Stuttgart State Theatre, then to children of employees of the Ministry of Science, Research and Art, and then to other children within Stuttgart.
